La Jolla Hair Salon Wedding Hair Tips

Should I schedule a trial run for my wedding hair style?
We highly suggest scheduling a trial run at our La Jolla hair salon at least 2 to 3 months before the date of your wedding.   This is one of the best ways to reduce your stress on your wedding day.  Having the opportunity to see a practice version of your hair style and make adjustments before the big day is extremely important.  This ensures that your hair will be the image of perfection as you walk down the aisle.

What should I wear to my wedding hair appointment?
When you arrive at the salon for your bridal hair appointment (either for a trial run or the final appointment), remember to wear a zip-up or button up shirt.  Clothing with collars, hoods, or snug necklines, such as turtlenecks, should be avoided as they can ruin your beautiful style.

Can I color my hair before my wedding day?
Yes.   Claudia can help you choose the perfect hair color.   Plan an appointment for a new hair color or highlights at our La Jolla hair salon at least 2 weeks before your wedding day.   Having your hair appointment this far in advance will allow your hair to adjust to the new color or new cut before your wedding.   You can choose face framing highlights, a blonding effect, permanent or demi-permanent color or any other technique.   For adding shine, you can receive a clear gloss or shine treatment to give your hair a lustrous finish!

What should I bring to my initial wedding hair consultation?
Your initial wedding hair appointment is the perfect opportunity for you to share all of the details about your wedding, your vision, your likes and dislikes, and your overall theme.  You can bring photos that you have collected that show different styles that you like as well as your veil and any hair accessories that you plan to wear.   We can analyze your hair type and determine if any adjustments need to be made in order to create the look that you want.   For example, if your hair is only shoulder length, but you want to add amazing length and volume, we can consider adding hair extensions.   If you prefer updos, chignons, and other types of upstyles, there are many fabulous options that can be created and customized just for you.

What if my hair is damaged and unhealthy?
Begin planning regular deep conditioning treatments at our hair salon in the months before your wedding day to add shine and manageability to your hair.  A deep conditioning treatment can help repair damage, lock in moisture, add shine, and strengthen your hair, which will in turn add to its beauty on your wedding day.  We suggest a treatment which can be customized to target specific issues that your hair may be experiencing so that the health and beauty of your hair can be restored.

Do I need to schedule a trial run for my makeup as well as my hair?
Yes.   Scheduling a trial run for your bridal makeup is just as important as scheduling an appointment for your hair.  You can schedule both appointments on the same day so that you can get a complete vision of what your finished look will be.
